From the Oscars to the Grammy’s, to the Golden Globes, every year the awards season brings head-turning red carpet fashion styles. But we can’t help but relive some of the most iconic beauty moments, those standout styles/looks that have stuck with us from years – decades – past. Because there are more than a handful of fabulous Hollywood moments, we thought we’d pay tribute to the top 40 must see red carpet looks of all time. It’s time to roll out the red carpet!
Drew Barrymore | Oscars (1998)
Hollywood’s favorite funny girl graced the red carpet with fresh flowers in her blonde bob. Her fondness for daisies and heavy lip liner, made for a naturally chic look.

Drew Barrymore
Jennifer Lopez | 42nd Grammy Awards (2000)
One of the most talked-about red carpet looks to this day. See-through or not, the (extremely) revealing green Versace gown was definitely a fashion statement back then.

Jennifer Lopez
Elizabeth Taylor | Golden Globes (1957)
Apart from the royal women, only Ms. Elizabeth Taylor herself could pull off wearing a tiara (esque) headband. Cinderella would be very proud of this look.

Elizabeth Taylor
Barbra Streisand | Oscars (1969)
Considering the fact that Streisand has “wowed” audiences from the beginning of her career, we wouldn’t expect anything but a perfectly modest look. Once a classic, always a classic.

Barbara Streisand
Gwyneth Paltrow | Oscars (1999)
Effortlessly flawless, Paltrow’s up-do was inspired by Grace Kelly. However, it’s not the up-do or mascara that put Gwyneth on the list. Winning best actress enabled her to give one of the most memorable and historical speeches, ever!

Gwyenth Paltrow
Julia Roberts | Oscars (2001)
An American sweetheart. Julia’s soft but organized ponytail and perfectly lined eyes made for the picture-perfect look. Sign me up for a fashion class with her designers, it’s time to learn the “do’s and dont’s” of fashion.

Julia Roberts
Rhianna | Grammy Awards (2012)
Rocking a classy Armani dress made for an excellently glamorous look. Basic but elegantly chic, this look is still one of the hottest the Grammy’s as seen.

Rhianna
Nicole Kidman | Oscars (2017)
Created just for her, the red Balenciaga dress couldn’t be more fitting or fabulous. Such a ground-breaking yet powerful look for this revolutionary actress… both on and off-screen.

Nicole Kidman
Jane Fonda | Academy Awards (1972)
In the spirit of the Nixon and Vietnam days, Fonda wore a black wool Yves Saint Laurent couture tunic and pantsuit. Simple but fashionable, just like the actress.

Jane Fonda
Cameron Diaz | Oscars (2002)
Diaz wore an origami-inspired strapless dress, a Dior dress that is. And when the actress presented an award, all eyes were on her, more specifically her dress. There’s something about Cameron.

Cameron Diaz
Anne Hathaway | Venice Film Festival (2008)
A perfectly neat slicked back bun, gold necklace, and sea-foam green dress, Anne was made a real-live mermaid. And hey who knows, maybe she’ll copy this look for one of her future films.

Anne Hathaway
Kiera Knightly | BAFTAs (2008)
Making a sparkling entrance, Kiera wearing a silver tiered gown by the one-and-only Valentino. Kiera wears a tiara, hey that rhymes! Well, kind of.

Keira Knightley
Julianna Moore | 68th Film Festival (2015)
Arriving for the opening ceremony of the awards in a black Armani gown covered head-to-head in gems. We’d like to see “Moore” of this look.

Julianne Moore

Reese is no stranger to the red carpet. Her one-shoulder fitted white gown was a legally exceptional red carpet look.

Reese Witherspoon
Mira Sorvino | Academy Awards (1996)
From head-to-toe, the Italian actress nailed the princess look. Mira’s award was received for acclaimed role in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite. Which is an awesome film for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Mira Sorvino

The power couple stepped onto the red carpet like the ultimate rock stars (as if they weren’t already). The outfits were beyond fitting for both their unique yet awesome styles.

Madonna Michael Jackson
Halle Barry | Academy Awards (2002)
Halle Barry is still (to this day) the only woman of color to win the lead actress Oscar. Two things were memorable for Barry this night: 1) her see-through floral gown, and 2) her acceptance speech. The combination of her gratefulness and sincerity left such a deep impression on viewers worldwide.

Halle Barry

Renée chose a very jolly vintage dress by French designer Jean Dessès. A happy look for a happy actress.

Bjork
Celine Dion | 71st Academy Awards (1999)
Dion wore a reversed Dior suit at the 71st Academy Awards, yes a reversed suit. But if you’re going to wear a “reversed” suit, make sure it Dion. I’m sorry did we say Dion? We meant Dior.

Celine Dion
Jennifer Lawrence | Academy Awards (2013)
A strapless Dior Haute Couture pale blush gown styled with Chopard diamonds and a metallic Roger Vivier clutch. To top off this bedazzled look, Lawrence wore pear-shaped white diamond drop earrings, a white diamond band, floral diamond ring, and the show-stopping centerpiece: a 74-carat strand of 150 diamond beads, which (by the way) she wore backwards. Katniss cleans up well.

Jennifer Lawrence
Hillary Swank | Academy Awards (2005)
Truly a million dollar baby in this Guy Laroche gown. Plus, Swank’s pearly white smile is the icing on the cake, making a terrific look.

Hillary Swank
Sharon Stone | Academy Awards (1998)
Pairing a lilac Vera Wang evening skirt with a button-down Gap shirt, Sharon Stone has completed the ultimate mix-and-match by pulling pieces from her then-husband’s closet. Not a bad idea, maybe we should all give this look a shot.

Sharon Stone

Avatar’s Zoe Saldana chose a Givenchy couture gown that combined a sparkling bodice with clouds of sculpted tulle. The color combination and fit of the dress couldn’t is delicately chic.

Victoria Beckham | MTV Music Awards (2003)
Proving that jumpsuits can work as chic evening attires, including red carpet evenings. Victoria and (soccer legend) husband showed up matching in white Dolce & Gabbana outfits. Possibly channeling Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s iconic denim 2001 look?

Victoria Beckham
Mariah Carey | Grammy Awards (1991)
Mariah sailed down the red carpet to pick up her first two Grammy awards (ever). Thanks to her soft natural spirals and signature brown lips, Mariah Carey rocked 90’s fashion like no other.

Mariah Carey
Beyonce | Grammy Awards (2014)
The diva of all diva’s, a star who rarely ever gets it wrong especially when it comes to red carpet fashion. Beyonce’s grey smoldering eyes and damp-look waves were the perfect contrast for the white lace gown. We love you Queen B!
