Elizabeth Wurtzel

Best known as the American writer/journalist to publish Prozac Nation, Elizabeth Wurtzel often focused her work on her personal struggles involving addiction, depression, and her personal/work lives. Because of her confessional-style memoirs, she became a voice of Generation X, driving an uptick in this very personal style of writing. Wurtzel died of complications related to metastasized breast cancer at the age of 52 in 2020.
