Ursula Andress’ claim to fame is being the first ever Bond girl, having starred in Dr. No opposite Sean Connery. Her voice was dubbed so that her Swiss-German accent could be covered up, but she still managed to gain great popularity. This is not surprising since her character probably had the most legendary introduction in film history as far as introductions of female lead characters go. She was then featured in Playboy magazine many times. When Ursula Andress was asked why she had no problems with her naked photos being published, she simply said, “Because I’m beautiful.”

French actress Catherine Deneuve made her breakthrough internationally when she appeared in Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, a film where the entire dialogue was sung, not unlike an opera. The actress then went on to star in Roman Polanski’s film Repulsion, making her even more popular. After this, she accumulated impressive acting credits and in 1985, became the official face of Marianne, the personification of liberty of the French Republic. She recently made headlines for signing an open letter that is against the #MeToo movement, something that she considers a witch hunt, and nothing more.
