The Controversial Princess Margaret
To the right of Queen Elizabeth II is her sister. Princess Margaret became the Countess of Snowdon and she has been known for several controversies. After the conclusion of the Second World War, she grew infatuated with the married Group Captain Peter Townsend. In 1952, he got a divorce and then proposed to Margaret. The Church of England forbade the young woman from marrying a divorcé, however. They ended the relationship and she later got married to the photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones. Sadly, they got a divorce 18 years later and she reportedly had numerous male suitors afterward.
