An Elegant Engagement Photoshoot
Queen Elizabeth II was just 21 years old when she and Prince Philip got engaged in 1947. When they finally let the public know about the engagement, they had a photoshoot for the press release. In this photograph, Elizabeth looked absolutely dazzling in a white dress and a pearl necklace. However, there were a lot of people who felt that Philip would not be a good husband for the then-princess. Luckily, their love managed to survive all the criticism and they remain in love to this date. In more recent news, Queen Elizabeth II underwent a cataract surgery in May 2018.
