They might have had a terrible falling out all those years before, but Dolly nonetheless rushed to Porter Wagoner’s bedside when he was sick. He succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 80 years old. Dolly had been there to help him through it and to properly say goodbye. In an interview, she described how difficult it was, and how she prayed for her former partner.
