The Church Was Her Stage
The Partons were regulars at the church, and this tradition played a huge part in her childhood. At the age of 6, she started performing for the congregation. After two years of this, she received a gift in the form of a guitar from her uncle. This is where it all began! Not long after, she began performing on radio shows and on local television.
