Also, it’s important to note she was about 65 years old at the time of the show. Considering her age, it makes it all the more impressive. Think about it, Schafer had to fall and sink in quicksand. He told her to add a clause in her contract that really saved her. Within the fine print, Wells had been advised to add in that she would get royalties from Gilligan’s Island syndications. So, even today as daytime TV plays reruns, Dawn Wells still receives checks from Gilligan’s Island time to time. Amazing!
