Who wouldn’t want to hang out with the entire Gilligan’s Island cast? Apparently, Tina Louise didn’t want to. Also Louise avoided group interviews. Many suspected this was because the star hoped not to be typecast as Ginger from Gilligan’s Island. It’s true, once the actors left the show, most TV and film producers were nervous audiences would only see them as Gilligan’s Island characters.

Love Interest?
Fans loved to talk about a potential relationship between Mary Ann and the Professor. Millions eagerly watched Gilligan’s Island waiting for the moment the romance would be sparked. Yet, producer Sherwood Schwartz was carefully avoiding such a love interest as to keep his show as family friendly as possible. Schwartz would not allow any romances so as to not push the envelope.
