Nadia was unable to tear her eyes away from the American team during the Olympic Games. Mary Lou Retton was not the one breaking her heart – it was her old coach. The Romanian government gave Nadia strict orders not to interact with him in any way. She was suffering and felt a strong urge to leave her home country.
