When the noise plays, the scene immediately freezes and is set to black and white. That dramatic noise was actually created by Donald P. Bellisario but not with fancy equipment. Just a simple microphone.

Cameos
Two real-life NCIS agents made cameos on the series! Special Agent David Brant appeared in season three’s episode “Frame Up”. While former director Thomas Betro appears in “Identity Crisis” two seasons later. Both agents also used their real names on the show.
