Military Jargon
Films and video games often depict soldiers speaking to each other using phrases such as “roger that”, “affirmative”, and “negative”. What do you know – this is really the way soldiers talk! They might even carry this manner of speaking into the civilian world. After all, it is not unlike learning a different language. It’s easy to see why it can be hard to let it go.
