As part of the plan, Joanna Gaines decided to give the Matsumoto family a glamorous and modern master suite. The ceiling was made using raw wood they salvaged from the original structure. It was meant to remind the couple of the origins of the house. We would not be surprised if we catch wind that people started using old material for their new ceiling after this episode!
