Unexpectedly and with all their bravery, the tactic that Dan came up with became successful. It worked! Even though the new owners had to give up and give most of the discovered money back to the original owners, they still came out of the negotiation as rich people. That is definitely not a bad payment for a $500 storage unit purchase. Imagine buying a $500 storage unit that you had no idea will turn you later on like a millionaire. They would no longer be estranged by the locked safe.

On the other hand, Dan and Laura Dotson didn’t end up any richer due to this case. But this was so far the biggest ride of their careers as auctioneers. This taught them many lessons and allowed them to explore more of their hobbies. Discovering a tremendous amount of money is more than enough to make someone’s day better, right?
