CW’s Arrow
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim explained why they didn’t cast Justin Hartley as Green Arrow in the CW series. Instead they took on Stephen Amell. “We certainly wanted to chart our own course and destiny. Justin is a terrific Arrow.” He also explained that, “Michael Keaton [as Batman] doesn’t affect your love for Christian Bale and Christian Bale doesn’t affect your love for Adam West … multiple iterations are possible.”
Jonathan Kent
TV Guide asked John Schneider, AKA Jonathan Kent, why his character was getting killed off. He revealed, “It was explained that in the story of Superman, Jonathan Kent dies, so it was an inevitable event that had been set up so long ago. I just thought that perhaps it would be at the end of the season, not in the middle, but there you have it.” He continued to say, “But it’s OK with me because in many senses, Jonathan is in the show more after he’s dead. His memory is kind a talisman for the second half of Season 5. I’m in it in spirit more than I was in Season 4 at all.”
