The most well-known German race car driver in the Formula One is Michael Schumacher. He is regarded by many as the greatest driver of all time, and is the only person ever to win 7 Formula One World Championships. He raced for Jordan Grand Prix, Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes. Michael began his professional career in 1991 and later retired in 2012. With the company Schuberth, Schumacher helped develop the 1st lightweight carbon helmet. Unfortunately, the elite driver was involved in a tragic skiing accident in 2013 and was put into a medically-induced coma. He is still unable to stand or walk. Michael currently has a net worth of $800 million.
