Sally Struthers won over American hearts as Gloria Stivic, the daughter of Edith and Archie Bunker in Norman Lear’s groundbreaking sitcom All in the Family. She wasn’t expecting to get the part because Candice Azarra, who played Gloria in the pilot episode, had been offered it first. To make room for Sally, Candice was quickly discarded.
