If you spend absolutely any time on the internet or browsing cable television then you’ll no doubt see the debate on gun control rear its ugly head. Guns are an intricate part of the American experience and their usage and ownership can be dated all the way back to the Founding Fathers. Hollywood is a pretty left leaning world whose actors tend to lean toward more gun control, rather than less. We decided to pull together 13 actors who not only believe in the 2nd amendment, but actually love their guns as well.

Gary Sinise

Gary Sinise is a Hollywood legend thanks to his work in films like Apollo 13 and The Green Mile but that hasn’t stopped him from being a vocal advocate of gun rights. In Hollywood you typically don’t talk about guns too much, but Sinise has always been outspoken. He’s a staunch supporter of American Veterans and he has repeatedly talked about how important our right to bear arms is. Sinise has been a loud voice in the camp that firmly believes gun control has no effect on crime. Whether he is right or wrong is up for debate but what isn’t questionable is his faith in his stance.

Bruce Willis

You don’t get to become one of the greatest action stars in Hollywood without coming across your own firearm or two. While Bruce Willis calls himself a pacifist he knows the value of a firearm in a confrontation with ‘bad guys’. Willis says that even if he didn’t have a gun at his side he would do everything in his power to protect a loved one, “You would fight for your life. You’d use a rock or tear one of these chairs out of the floor.” We wouldn’t expect any less from the star of the Die Hard series.

Ted Nugent

Some people on this list will do a great job showcasing why legal firearm possession is so important. Ted Nugent, on the other hand, is the poser boy for everything wrong with American gun culture. Nugent is an old rockstar who sits on the board of the NRA. He is vocal in his passion for guns but he routinely says things that the rest of us can’t help but shake our heads about. We appreciate his vocal support of the 2nd amendment but we could do with less of his racially charged rants and belligerent posts.

Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris is the kind of guy that doesn’t need a firearm to put his enemy down. The famous martial artist, Hollywood actor, and right wing talking head has made a post-acting career out of standing up for conservative values. Norris is as pro-gun as you get and the way he shares his position makes us assume that he is looking at a long career in politics in the future. We will spare you any old and tired Chuck Norris jokes in this column, though it is proving to be difficult.

Alton Brown

Chef Alton Brown has become something of a pop culture icon thanks to his work on the Food Channel and with his show, Good Eats. You wouldn’t really expect a Hollywood level Chef to hold much regard for the 2nd amendment but that isn’t the case with Alton Brown. The famous Chef and food educator routinely posts pictures of himself at shooting ranges on his Twitter and social media pages. We still think that if everyone could cook like Alton Brown we would never need guns, we’d all be too darn happy with our food.

James Earl Jones

The booming voice of legendary villain Darth Vader, James Earl Jones is also a fan of guns. He is a card carrying member of the NRA and he has even served time on the board of the Association. Still, this doesn’t mean that Jones buys into the politics surrounding the NRA. Jones admits that he throws away any of the ‘political crap’ that the NRA mails out, leaving his love of guns a pure thing. We applaud the man for making the decision to be a part of something even if it doesn’t align with his values so that he can still support the constitution.

Samuel L. Jackson

You don’t get to be Tarantino’s right hand guy for a couple of decades without grabbing a gun or two along the way. Samuel L. Jackson has turned in star worthy performances in several films that featured his using a gun (Pulp Fiction, The Hateful Eight) and we aren’t surprised to see that the actor also believes in the rights of gun owners everywhere. Jackson made a relatively lucid point to the press when speaking on guns, he said that he was raised in the South were guns were prevalent — but people didn’t really shoot each other. Instead, Jackson pointed out that people need to value life more and that’ll solve the problem.

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck is as progressive as it gets in the political world but that doesn’t mean he can’t love the 2nd amendment. Affleck is a gun lover through and through and the Batman vs. Superman star admits that he just loves to skeet shoot. When pushed on gun control politics Affleck simply states, “I believe in the Bill of Rights, including the 2nd amendment.” It doesn’t get much more clear than that, does it? The bigger question is this: what does Matt Damon think about gun control?

Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood, the Dirty Harry, is as well known for his right wing politics as he is for his career in the film world. Eastwood has gotten more and more politically motivated as he has gotten older and he is becoming a hero and icon on the 2nd amendment. Eastwood repeatedly defends the right to bear arms and we don’t see that ever changing. We are surprised that the award winning filmmaker never seriously tried to make it in politics. Eastwood’s brand of fiery passion would do well in today’s emerging political climate.

Johnny Depp

Known for his liberal policies and cartoonish characters, it might surprise some to know that Johnny Depp is a staunch advocate of the 2nd amendment. The Pirates of the Caribbean superstar is known to be fascinated by and in love with firearms. Depp has even told people that he plans to teach his children to safely shoot and operate a firearm when they are the right age for it.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt is one of the last true Hollywood megastars and we don’t think there will be another one like him any time soon. Pitt is a Hollywood icon and a staunch democrat so it might surprise some to hear that he is also a gun lover in his free time. Pitt openly advocates for gun rights and he even says that guns make him feel ‘more safe’ when they are in the house. Pitt admits that you are never completely safe but that he feels like he is in a better position to keep his loved ones from harm when he has a firearm tucked away somewhere.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is as much of a Hollywood legend as her hubby Brad Pitt is but her inclusion on this list is, perhaps, even more surprising. Jolie is an unabashed progressive Democrat who routinely stumps for most left leaning policies. With that being said, you cannot say that Jolie doesn’t love guns. In fact, husband Brad Pitt gifted Jolie with a $400,000 shooting range in one of their homes so that they could shoot together while they are both in the house. Jolie and Pitt are two adventure icons in the Hollywood world so we bet that they are pretty good at shooting as well.

Steven Spielberg

To cap off our list we go to one of the most revered directors in Hollywood history: Steven Spielberg. It’s easy to instantly assume that Spielberg is a gun control advocate thanks to his career and predisposition to most left leaning policies, but that isn’t the case. Apparently Spielberg loves his guns, backs the 2nd amendment, and has enough of an armory to make the entire NRA blush. People who visit Spielberg’s home and get the ‘gun tour’ are always blown away by what the Hollywood legend has tucked up in his home. This is one director we do not want to mess with.
