Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn had unique and lovely looks, so it was not surprising to hear that she became a big star. Her role in the classic film Roman Holiday opposite Gregory Peck launched her into stardom and earned her a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and an Academy Award. She later decided to focus on humanitarian work and philanthropy, for which she was honored. In 1993, she lost her battle to a rare type of abdominal cancer, but her impact on the entertainment industry continues to be felt even to this day.

Kim Novak

In case you did not know Columbia Pictures initially recruited Kim Novak as some kind of a replacement for Rita Hayworth, who was among the greatest stars in the ‘40s but suffered a drop in popularity in the ‘50s. Kim Novak was also brought in to compete with 20th Century Fox’s Marilyn Monroe. Novak’s appearance in the film Vertigo by Alfred Hitchcock established her place in the industry. Since the ‘60s, she has only acted sporadically and since the early ‘90s, she has been retired, something she certainly deserves. In 2010, the star announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer but she later recovered.
