Joy-Ann Reid was determined to attain her goal despite obstacles and personal connections in her early years.
At the age of 17, she was orphaned and traveled to the East Coast to continue her schooling at Harvard University.

Milisa Rehberger graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1993 and worked as a station co-anchor in Orlando and Oklahoma City. In 2003, she accepted a job offer from MSNBC and went on to work as a reporter, editor, and anchor for several network shows.
