Usually, the fawn’s very herd returned to the same place during the evenings. So, knowing this, Sasnauskas hoped to release her back once she reached full strength. He wanted to set her free to return to her real family. No one could ever replace her real mother.

Just as the deer recovered, he began taking her outside during the evenings. He hoped she could rejoin her family once she spotted them. This would make her transition into the wild much easier. Yet, things would not prove to be that simple.
