Speaking In A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S.
Military speak is littered with all sorts of acronyms. WAG, SNAFU, and BOHICA are only a handful of examples. It is not uncommon to hear these and more in a soldier’s vocabulary. If you do not know what they mean, it’s clear that you have always been a civilian.
Honking Twice
It is common practice in the military to honk twice to inform pedestrians and other drivers that you are going to back up. When they finish service, soldiers tend to keep doing this in civilian life out of habit.
