If ever you hear the person in the next stall whistling as they pee, there is a good chance that they are a soldier. It sounds like a very considerate gesture, though apparently, no one can pinpoint exactly where it came from.

The name might not sound familiar to you, but we are sure you know the gesture when you see it. A knife hand is when you stick your fingers together and align them in a line. Often used when giving directions, this is a practice that many soldiers take with them back to civilian life.
