DIAHANN CARROLL, 83 YEARS OLD
Diahann Carroll motivated many young African-American women who wanted to engage in show business. The actress was the first African-American woman ever seen on a television program. Though it was strange at the time, what we’re talking about was Julia’s work. We were glad that she passed it and had been given several nominations and awards. Although she spent years coping with breast cancer, it was extremely fortunate that she survived. She had her last acting role in 2014 and was now gone.

Before being famous, Cicely Tyson was a fashion model. The actress appeared in a variety of film and stage projects. How could we forget about her fantastic role as Constantine Bates in the movie The Help? As we could still see her performing in shows to this day, nothing could keep her from acting. If we hadn’t known how old she was, we could have mistaken her for being a lot younger.
