Miranda refused
Miranda was shocked when she was requested to open the trunk because she felt insulted by the officers and had nothing to hide. Acting on instinct rather than reason, she did something that she shouldn’t have done. She was reluctant to open her trunk as a result. Everything started getting bad right away after that.
