It’s Not Cultural Theft
As Keziah supporters flooded the internet, one tweeted how “there’s a difference between cultural appropriation & cultural appreciation…I’m Chinese and I didn’t take issue.” Another posted how “it is not cultural theft…It is cultural appreciation and cultural respect.”
Culture Has No Borders
Keziah won much support on the Social Media platform Weibo, with many reminding us that Keziah looked beautiful and criticised those who were offended about the dress. One posted how “Culture has no borders. There is no problem, as long as there is no malice or deliberate maligning. Chinese cultural treasures are worth spreading all over the world.”
