Hypnotic Serenity
While Reese Witherspoon filmed the intimate scenes for Wild, she needed something to calm her nerves. Witherspoon revealed to Vogue in 2014, that she hired a hypnotist to help calm her before shooting the sex scenes. In addition, author Cheryl Strayed helped her understand how to accurately act as if she was shooting heroin. She told Vogue, “I wanted it to be truthful, I wanted it to be raw, I wanted it to be real.”
