The three young roommates had no other choice but to bring home the oldest and the ugliest couch they had found in the thrift store. They had no other choice since it was cheap. It was only twenty bucks, and this was the only furniture in the couch section to fit their new apartment. The couch was ugly, yet it was a bargain, so they bought it.
