The Drums
The family relocated to California back in 1963. Richard went on to study at California State College at Long Beach, where he further honed his music skills. Karen, on the other hand, became a student at Downey High School and learned to play the drums while attending school there. The siblings played together in the pit band for a local production of the musical “Guys and Dolls”.

A Little Secret
It’s already amazing that Karen turned out to be a great drummer, but did you know that there was a reason she went down this path? She apparently did not enjoy going to gym class in the early morning and decided to study the drums to get out of it! Not the purest of intentions, but we wouldn’t have her music otherwise.
