In 2006, Elin got embroiled in a scandal and she felt the hardship and struggle that came with worldwide attention and fame. An Irish magazine released nude pictures of a woman who was allegedly Elin even though the magazine did not have any evidence that back their allegations. Needless to say, Elin refuted claims that she was the woman in the pictures, but this was actually just the beginnings of the scandal which swallowed the couple in later years.

Elin Successfully Clears Her Name
Elin knew the truth – she was not the woman in the scandalous photos, so she started her quest to debunk the magazine’s theories and of course, clear her name. She consulted with attorneys and private eyes, and they were able to trace the origins of the photos, which turned out to be pictures of a former Playboy model. Now that they had evidence, the couple sued the magazine and won. The court ordered the Irish magazine to pay Elin nearly $200,000 and issue a public apology.
