Back in 2001, Selleck played the lead in the Broadway revival of A Thousand Clowns. Critics were quick to bash Selleck’s performance as they felt Jason Robards, Jr. played the part much better, I mean he did win tons of awards for portraying that character. Gardner, the playwright, was quick to say, “Selleck was the way he had always envisioned Murray.”

Not surprisingly, Selleck is quite the avid outdoorsman, marksman, and firearms collector. All of which made his eager to star in Western films! And star in westerns he did. He appeared in movies such as The Sacketts, The Shadow Riders, Quigley Down Under, and Crossfire Trail.
