New Mission
Very soon after the couple tied the knot, they were offered an opportunity to return to Honduras. Without delay they decided to join the mission, later that year they traveled back to Honduras – back to Aaron’s hometown. Rachel was thrilled to see where he grew up. Missionaries also played a role as a teacher in a town just next to Tegucigalpa. Probably not the most dreamy honeymoon destination but the pair made it the ideal retreat. As they arrived, they soon noticed a few minor changes in the area…

Needs
After just a few months, the two were very concerned about the community except they were by no means worried to speak their mind. It was very apparent to them that the churches needed to be taught the gospel. The Halberts immediately recognized their mission and identified their purpose of being there. Unfortunately, their time in Honduras ended and they needed to return home, despite wanting to remain there. After returning to Mississippi they knew they would always remember the community and were delighted with their achievements. Yet they didn’t know that there were in for a huge change…
