The organization more popularly known as AFRA aims to promote sustainable practices for both aircraft and engines. A different spokesman has mentioned that over the course of the next three years, 1,200 to 1,800 airplanes will be dismantled across the world. Moreover, 500 to 600 aircraft units will be retired every year of the next twenty years. If people follow the example Bruce Campbell set, that means thousands of airplane homes all over the globe!

The Woods Of Hillsboro

There were a few reasons why Campbell set up the Boeing 727 in his neck of the woods in Hillsboro, Oregon. First of all, he received a job offer there after he graduated back in the ‘70s. Next, he simply adored the abundance of greenery in the area. He wrote on his website, “I like the area and it’s very green and Oregon is a little independent minded which appealed to me. It’s a country setting, it’s very nice. It’s more than enough for the aircraft.”
