Even the idea of upcycling airliners is enough to get Campbell excited and giddy. He would like to claim the niche as his own. As he stands beside his home, he explains, “My goal is to change humanity’s behavior in this little niche.”

Campbell is not the only person who has converted a retired aircraft into a suitable living space. In fact, people from Texas and Netherlands among others have done the same thing! A spokesperson for the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association spokesman named Martin Todd said the organization “is happy to see aircraft fuselages re-purposed in a range of creative ways. We would want them to be recovered and to be re-used in an environmentally sustainable fashion.”
