Celine’s mother sent a demo of the song to Rene. She attached a note stating, “This is a 12-year-old with a fantastic voice. Please listen to her. We want her to be like Ginette Reno.” Rene ignored the demo at first and failed to respond. Celine’s brother, Jaques, refused to take no for an answer and pleaded with Rene to listen to the demo. He finally did and immediately invited Celin in for an audition.
