Thousands heard about the story of Dan and Diggy and they felt infuriated. Supporters started to organize an online petition to help Dan keep the four-legged friend he loves. As protesters were doing things to make sure Diggy gets to stay with his family, Dan also did his part and made preparations. He was determined to take the matter to court. Aside from organizing a petition that calls for allowing Dan to keep Diggy, supporters of the two had come up with other plans. They wished to get rid of the town’s rules against keeping pit bulls as pets, thus allowing Diggy to continue staying with Dan and ensuring dog owners would not need to face a difficult decision like this again. The supporters were of the opinion that not allowing the adoption of a dog because of its breed was unfair and they wished to have the laws changed.
