Everyone in the little community knew Steven had been homeless when he returned. They brushed him aside and made assumptions about him. He was all alone. But Elly and Peter had welcomed him immediately away and had asked him to supper on occasion, which had helped him recover from his depression. He sought to repay her gratitude in every way he could.
