It seems like her intense training regime paid off as Nadia Comăneci made her way to the Romanian National Junior Championship when she was only eight years old. She was able to finish in 13th place, which is highly impressive for someone her age. Regardless, Nadia was disappointed that she did not win and this only motivated her to work harder. The same drive ended up earning her the first spot in the same competition the year after that!
