Southern Upbringing
Growing up, Witherspoon was raised as an Episcopalian. Of this, she said she is proud of the “definitive Southern upbringing” she received. Moreover, this upbringing gave her “a sense of family and tradition” and also taught her about “being conscientious about people’s feelings, being polite, being responsible and never taking for granted what you have in your life.” Sounds like solid advice.

First Love
Back in 1997, during her 21st birthday party, Reese first met fellow actor Ryan Phillippe. From there, a whirlwind romance blossomed and man was the media obsessed with them. In June 1999, the pair exchanged vows. Together they have two children, Ava and Deacon. Sadly, hearts collectively broke when Witherspoon and Phillippe announced their separation in 2006.
