In November 2004, there was a re-acquisition of Superboy by the Siegel family. As such, a copyright infringement argument rose up about ownership of the fictional town of Smallville and it claimed there was similarity between Superboy and Smallville’s Clark Kent. The Siegel heirs explained that “Smallville is part of the Superboy copyright” (which they hold).
