Her Own Show
Speaking of Laura Vandervoort, she almost got her own show as Supergirl. She told TVLine in 2016, “When we were working on Smallville, it wasn’t officially discussed, but I had heard rumblings as well about a series being done. The timing wasn’t right. There were the 90210s and Melrose Place-type shows. And I’m just glad that now we’re seeing the ability to have a female superhero leading the way.”

Fan Demand
Once again fans stepped in to strongly demand that Tom Welling reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman on the new Supergirl series. However Welling felt that Clark could not exist in that universe because there is a highly different essence between both of the shows. “There’s really nothing in common, there are no parallels at all. I say that being a fan of what they’re doing. I think they’re doing a great job.”
