Crew Changes
After seven season, Gough and Millar left the show and were replaced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson. Although by season nine Swimmer and Slavkin left and only Souders and Peterson remained. Tom Welling also took on the part of co-executive producer. In 2010, Millar, Gough and co-producer Tollin/Robins Productions all filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and The CW. They claimed that “Warner Bros. failed to “maximize profits” in marketing Smallville, misrepresented production costs and sold the show to foreign markets at “well below the value of the series.” That same year Welling became the executive producer.
