As the couple felt a huge connection to the community they assisted back in Honduras, they knew they were going to go back to visit. Aaron and Rachel returned on a mission with the Presbyterian Church of America and then started to conceive naturally, but during this time they also visited an adoption agency. They went to an agency in Mississippi for the day and were provided with a lot of information. They were so eager to start a family of their own.

When they left the adoption agency they both immediately knew that adoption was exactly what they wanted to do. They were well aware of the difficulties orphans faced when being placed in good homes and more often for non-Caucasian babies. The couple precisely said that they would adopt any child except a caucasian one! They believed that if God wanted them to have a caucasian child Rachel would conceive one, “We did this with the deeply held conviction that if the Lord wanted us to have a fully Caucasian child my wife would conceive naturally.” So then what happened next?
